Everfall: Rise of Nations
Grimstone Prison is situated beneath the mountain that houses the dwarven capital of Muir Summit. The prison consists of a lobby floor one story below the bottom floor of Muir Summit. Beneath the lobby floor are 51 additional basement floors for housing prisoners. New convicts are housed on the first floor, and are moved down to lower floors as new convicts fill their spots. To accommodate more and more prisoners, the inmates of Grimstone are put to work in eighteen-hour shifts digging another floor beneath the current lowest floor and preparing the infrastructure for more cells. Those serving a life sentence in Grimstone eventually make their way to the bottom floor and end up digging the cells they will soon be living in.
The inmates at Grimstone have no activities available to them other than digging new cell blocks. Their labor is broken up by three meals of stale bread and cheap dwarven ale, and they sleep in six-hour shifts.
The vast majority of convicted criminals in Grimaldi serve their time in Grimstone. Petty thieves and murderers work, eat, and sleep in the same conditions, the only difference being the length of their sentences.
